Climate Premium for Heavy Trucks
Subsidy for electric and eco-friendly heavy trucks
The Swedish Energy Agency offers a climate premium for the purchase of heavy electric trucks, environmental trucks, and vehicle gas trucks intended for biogas. This premium aims to promote the introduction of environmentally friendly vehicles, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to a quieter and better climate.
- Electric Trucks: Up to 25% of purchase cost, with maximum support based on company size.
- Environmental Trucks: Up to 20% of purchase cost, with maximum support based on company size.
- Vehicle Gas Trucks: Up to 20% of purchase cost, with a maximum of 40% of eligible costs.
The premium is available to companies, municipalities, and regions purchasing new eligible trucks.
How to apply
- Log in to 'Mina sidor' with a personal BankID.
- Apply for access to the e-service 'Klimatpremie'.
- Once access is granted, apply for the premium.
Applicants must have a bankgiro or plusgiro account linked to their organization number. Applications are processed in order of receipt.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include companies, municipalities, and regions. Vehicles must be new, registered as trucks, and meet specific environmental criteria:
- Electric trucks must be emission-free and registered with a total weight over 3.5 tons.
- Environmental trucks must be hybrids driven by electricity and another renewable fuel.
- Vehicle gas trucks must be intended for biogas use.
Support is calculated based on the purchase cost and company size.
